Walkerton- John R. Elkins, 66, passed away February 9, 2021 due to natural causes. John was born in Michigan City, IN on August 11, 1954 to John Raymond and Marlene (Glassman) Elkins. John loved listening to his county music, gardening, collecting sports cards, and "cruising" with his long-time best bud, Thomas O'Connor. He was a long time employee of the former American Door, The Walkerton Foundry, and was retired from Masonite Doors in 2019. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Marlene (Glassman) Elkins, brother Kenneth Elkins, one daughter, and two sons: John and Brian Elkins. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Teresa (Price) Elkins, daughter Dawn (Alfonso) Calhoun, two granddaughters: Divinity and Brianna, two great grandchildren: Coreon and Ya'Nyla, three brothers: Richard (Carolyn), Bruce (Judy), and Glen (Robin) Elkins, one sister: Dora (Chris) Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers , all contributions in John's memory may be made to the family directly or to First Source Bank in Teresa Elkins' (on State Road 23) name. Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, 408 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton was entrusted with arrangements.
