John departed at the age of 78 on June 10, 2022 and was eternally reunited with the love of his life, Kathleen (Brogan) Radwich. In his final moments, John was surrounded by loved ones, some of whom included his children and grandchildren. He passed away from complications related to ESRD and Parkinson's. John was born on December 19, 1943 in Pittsfield, MA. For the past 45 years, John had primarily resided in Ventura County, CA until moving to Solano County, CA in July 2021. He was a father to Maureen, Kate, Tim, Susan, Jeremy, Stephanie, and Tom - all of whom are still living. Although estranged since their childhood, John was also father to John, Shane, Halaina, and Sebastian. John held many jobs during his life - a US Marine Corps sniper, baker, neighborhood milkman, driving instructor, machinist, and truck driver. His favorite role came after retirement: spending time with his grandchildren Zach, Maggie, Jeremy II, Kaylie, Nathan, Noah, and Eli. He had other grandchildren - Steve, Robin, Tim II, Sean, Michael, Daniel, Nicole, Kalei, Sam, and Rachel. Aside from being a grandfather, his favorite hobbies were writing, camping, playing cards, and watching Sci-Fi. John could be best described as a polarized individual - and he would agree. He often described himself as spiritual, but not religious. He was a private individual, but he was never short of an opinion nor too shy to share one. He was a man of few words, but could captivate us through humorous story telling. He was hard-working, good with his hands, prideful, independent, brash, playful, sarcastic, soft-hearted, guarded, and occasionally warm. John will be missed. The funeral and his celebration of life will be private ceremonies with only close family members and friends present.
