John Frederick Pritchard (60) of Barberton, passed away unexpectedly on February 16, 2021 after battling illness for the last few years. John was born in Akron Ohio and graduated from Barberton High School Class of 1979 and obtained both his bachelors and masters degrees in Secondary Education and Special Education Intervention Specialist from The University of Akron. He was a store manager for Barnes & Noble in his first career of 18 years. In his second career, he was a language arts and math teacher (general and special education) at Norton Middle School. He was fortunate enough to be passionate about and love both of his careers and was great at them - he loved all of his "kids" and many of his coworkers became his friends. John is preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Joan Pritchard. He is survived by his wife of almost 37 years, Jacqueline A. Pritchard (nee Bell) of Barberton and their beloved cats, Possum, Petey, Shelby and Mehitabel. He is also survived by his sister Candace Pritchard of Barberton and sister Vicki (James) Wallace and niece Sarah (Jared) Lapham and grand nephews and nieces Adam, Samantha, Luke, Naomi, Mary and James Lapham all of Uniontown. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. Per John's wishes, there will be no services.
