John was born and raised in Verplanck, New York, and was the son of Michael Pirich and Mary Karsko Pirich. John is survived by his daughter Michele, and son Johnny, with three grandchildren, Alex, Tori, and Gabby, sister, Rose Marie Pirich (Sister, Ann Michael). John was preceded in death by his brother Michael Pirich.
John was a proud Yankee and New York Giants as well as University of Notre Dame football fan. John was an excellent athlete. He was an avid golfer at Echo Lake Country Club (Westfield, New Jersey) as well as the Hanover Country Club.
John was a proud Marine and fought in the Korean War. He was "Marine of the Year" and for that he received a non-verbal part in the 1955 mover "Mister Roberts". John even got to have lunch with the stars of the movie Henry Fonda, James Cagney, and Jack Lemmon.
John was a graduate of Bryant University and the Harvard Business School.
John loved his family, sports, and the Catholic church. He was a wonderful provider and hero to all.
Dad, I hope you know you are my hero, and this you'll always be. I will find strength, I'll carry on, I'll make you proud of me - love, Michele.
