John Pedersen, 74, of Duncanville died July 10th, 2021. Born in Dallas, he was the eldest child of Harold Pedersen and Helen Anderson Pedersen. He attended High School in Dallas Texas. Back in 1967, John enlisted in the US Air Force. He and his wife were stationed at Hickam Airforce Base in Honolulu Hawaii. After his service in the Air Force, he and his late wife Judy, moved to Duncanville to start a family. John and Judy eventually had three kids and stayed in Duncanville to raise their family. There was no limit to the love and support these two parents gave to their kids. John and Judy spent many hours at the ball field, attending school functions or helping their kids achieve their goals. John was a life-long truck driver. He loved beer, food and fellowship. He was happiest while hanging out with his kids, his family and his friends. John loved his eighteen-wheeler. Always spending the extra time making sure his rig was fit for duty. John was a talking "road atlas". He could tell you by mile marker where to grab the best meal or cup of coffee along this nation's highways. He leaves behind his sister Nancy Mayerhoefer, her daughter Heather, his son James, wife Cindy, their 4 children Abbie, Clinton, Curtis, and Travis. His daughter Marcie Hamilton and her husband Preston, their 3 children, Hope, Hannah and Harrison. His son Mark Pedersen and his wife Jody, their 5 children Hailey, Trevor, Tristen, Mark II and Noah. Eight great-grand kids, and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy, of 47 years; and two grandsons, John-David Cecil Hamilton and Micah Coen Pedersen. Visitation will be held on Monday July 19th from 7-9 pm at Jaynes Memorial Chapel - 811 S Cockrell Hill Rd Duncanville, TX 75137. Funeral services to be held on July 20th at 12:30 pm at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. He will be buried with military honors on July 20th at 2:30 pm following a processional to Dallas - Ft. Worth National Cemetery from Jaynes Memorial Chapel.
