John Wayne Parsley, beloved brother, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend; passed away at the age of eighty-three on January 10, 2021. He was a long-time resident of Willis, TX. John Wayne was born in Conroe, TX on July 13, 1937. He served our country in The United States Naval Reserve. He managed and ran his own home building company - Parsley Custom Homes. He was a member of the Builders Association and an active participating member in his community. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Jean Parsley; his precious grandson Johnathan Morris; his brother Kenneth Parsley; and his sister Peggy Paddock. Those who will continue to celebrate his life are daughter Cheryl Hill, daughter Lisa Castro, and daughter Patricia Morris. He is also survived by his four grandchildren - Julia Johnson, Christopher Freeman, Jessica Nichols, Patrick Morris; great grand-son Caspian Morris; and brother William Parsley. John Wayne had a strong passion for hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed being with all of his grandchildren. He loved connecting, socializing and talking on the phone with his family and friends. Above all else, John Wayne was a funny and resilient man who worked hard to provide for his family. John Wayne Parsley was loved by all and will truly be missed. His soul was a strong one.
Memorial services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 101 Elmore St., New Waverly, Texas on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at 11:00 am. Masks will be mandatory.
