John J. (Jack) McTague, PhD, 77, an Albany native passed away peacefully at home in Dade City, FL on Feb. 11 after battling a rare form of cancer.
John spent 44 years as a well-loved history professor at Saint Leo before retiring in 2020. He was active in community theater, had a long-time role as a drummer and later guitarist with a popular local band, Time Warp.
John was predeceased by his parents, John and Eileen McTague. He is survived by his wife, Kristina; his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Porter; his brother, Timothy, and three sisters Maureen Dana, Sheila Addison, and Karen Maxim.
A celebration of life mass will be held at the St. Leo Abbey on the St. Leo University Campus, St. Leo, FL at 10 a.m. on 2/23.
