John Daniel McGuire, born December 19, 1935 was called home to our Lord on January 15, 2025 at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife Patsy (Bobst) McGuire whom he met at Beaver High School. They were married on June 8, 1957 and have been a shining example of a steadfast marriage for almost 68 years to their three children; Brad (Michele) McGuire, Lisa (Mike) DiFilippo, and John (Karen) McGuire. He has always been a present and involved grandfather to all six of his grandchildren: Matthew (Stephanie) McGuire, Michael (Laura) DiFilippo, Kathleen (Luke) Sedacca, Sara McGuire, John McGuire and Madelyn DiFilippo and to his 9 great-grandchildren.
After serving in the US Army for two years, he spent the majority of his 30+ year career in sales, which enabled him to provide a great life for his family. Following his retirement from sales he became a beloved bus driver for Forest Hills School District for 6+ years. He was active in the community, served in his church, and was a long-standing member of the Montgomery Masonic Lodge. Outside of work, he enjoyed many hobbies and passions including golf, square dancing, gardening and spending weekends at his family homestead in Beaver, Ohio. He never met a stranger, enjoyed being with people and making new friends wherever he went.
He was a true patriarch of his family and will be remembered for his friendly, fun-loving, entertaining, and occasionally rebellious personality, his love of family and friends and his devotion to following Christ. He will forever be missed.
Family and friends are invited to the Cox Burkett Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio at 1pm on Saturday, January 18th for a visitation and funeral immediately followed by a luncheon and celebration of John's life.
