John McCutcheon, 62, passed away January 11, 2021. He was born August 16, 1959 in Barberton to the late Claude and Norma McCutcheon. John was devoted to his family and friends and dedicated to protecting and serving the public. He had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh and smile, especially when you needed it.
John was proud to serve as FOP president in his continued dedication to his brothers and sisters in blue. He would often volunteer his services for funeral escorts as a show of respect to the family from the department. He was a member of the Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club and volunteered with Kiwanis to deliver gifts to children on Christmas Eve. John was referred to as "Zippy" by his close friends and coworkers. He had such fond memories of his friends at CAK.
A heart of gold might have stopped beating, but it did not stop without a fight. His generosity and kindness will forever brighten our broken hearts.
