John A. McClelland

John A. McClelland, age 87, passed from this life on March 13, 2025. A native of Ballinger, he was born February 28, 1938. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1958. After a tour as a linguist at Osan, Korea, he was reassigned to Hq ATC in the computer field. Upon discharge he returned to college at Texas Tech, graduating in 1964. John married Sandra Fowler in 1965, and settled in San Antonio, working at Hq ATC as a civilian computer specialist. He earned an M.S. from St. Mary's in 1975 and transferred to Hq Air Force Recruiting Service. He retired from a middle management position in 1991. John was a member of MacArthur Park Church of Christ from 1961 until his passing, serving several years as a deacon. He was an avid gardener, woodworker, and amateur genealogist.

He was predeceased by a son, his parents, and five siblings.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, a daughter, Susan May (Jim) of Newnan, Georgia, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Service and burial were held in Coleman, Texas on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
