John Randolph "Randy" Martin, 73, of Montgomery, Tx, passed away on January 12, 2022. He was born on June 1, 1948 in Livingston, Tx, to John "Bubba" and Laura Ann Martin.
Randy grew up in Livingston where he graduated from Livingston High School. He went on to graduate from Texas Tech University. From there he moved to Houston, Tx, where he and his wife owned and operated Martin Machinery, Inc. for over 35 years. Anticipating retirement, Randy and Liz moved to Montgomery, Tx, where they continued to operate their business. Upon retiring, Randy continued his passion for flying airplanes, helicopters and driving race cars. He always gave 100% to everything he did, even setting a world record for shooting the most birds in one day on a hunting trip to Argentina.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Brian Martin; and his father and mother-in-law, William and Phyllis Hoke. His is survived by his wife, Liz Hoke Martin; his cousins, Marilyn Martin Sharp and Ruth Martin Cain; niece Kalynne Gene Martin and brother-in-law, Randy Hoke.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 10:00 am at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, TX. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home with a graveside service immediately following at Bay's Chapel Cemetery in Richards, Tx. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Bay's Chapel Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 250, Richards, Texas 77873 or Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, 200 W.
