John Young Lancaster , 94 Dec 30, 1924 - Jun 26, 2019 John Young Lancaster, 94, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at his home.
Born December 30, 1924 in Elizabethtown, KY, he was the son of late Samuel V. and Lucille (Patterson) Lancaster.
He served in the U.S. Army as a captain during WWII. John was a graduate of the University of Virginia, Business Major.
He spent most of his career working as a personnel manager for Sperry Rand Corp. and Indian Head Textiles.
John is survived by his wife, Virginia Ann Pleasants Lancaster; daughter, Mary Virginia Lancaster-Clark and husband, Robert Page Clark; son, Troy Edward Lancaster; and three grandchildren, Mandy Gracen Lancaster, Virginia Paige Lancaster Clark, and Katherine Elizabeth Lancaster Clark.
The graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, July 1, 2019, at Riverview Cemetery, 1701 Chesapeake St, Charlottesville, VA. Pastor Cass Bailey will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to Martinsburg VA Medical Center, 510 Butler Ave, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
