John "JT" Terwilliger, 64, passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday February 24, 2022 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on September 3, 1957 in Patterson, New Jersey.
JT spent most of his life in the Otisville area of New York In his younger years, he was a member of the Otisville Fire Co. and a longtime member of the Otisville Sportsman Association. He was a hardworking man with a heart of gold who would generously offer the shirt from his back to anyone in need. JT was a skilled and creative sign slinger for many years and following his relocation to the Surfside Beach area, he recently worked as an electrician. In his free time, JT loved to play his guitar, enjoyed being outdoors especially golfing, tinkering with his many projects and above all else, spending time with his grandchildren and family. JT will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his dedicated work ethic, bright smile and infectious laughter.
Left to cherish JT's memory are his adoring children, John D. Terwilliger and wife, Lauren of Lake Wallenpaupack, PA, Thomas Terwilliger of Otisville, NY & Melissa Moore and her husband Mark of Marrietta, GA; mother, Evelyn Keiner Terwilliger of Surfside Beach; JT's companion of over 5 years, Nancy Roper; grandchildren, Laurelei Terwilliger, John-Lukas Terwilliger, Matthew Terwilliger, Sophia Terwilliger, Madelyn Terwilliger, Evan Moore, & Nora Moore; brothers, Robert "Bob" Terwilliger and wife, Laura of Murrells Inlet & Ronald "Ronnie" Terwilliger of Conway; sisters, Linda Terwilliger of Milford, PA & Lisa Rosati of Conway; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
JT is reunited in passing with his father, John Edwin Terwilliger.
A Celebration of JT's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Otisville Presbyterian Church. A celebration will follow the service at Otisville Fire Hall from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
