John Matthew Jarboe, age 66, of Bloomington passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at his residence. John had recently returned home to Indiana, after 28 years living in Norman, Oklahoma. Born December 1, 1954 in Tell City, Indiana, he was the son of Arnold Edward and Daulee (Richey) Jarboe. John proudly served our country in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. He retired as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. John loved everything planes. He was an aircraft mechanic, private pilot and flight instructor. The only thing he loved more than planes was his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and his eternal Father in heaven.
John is survived by his son, Allen (Jaimie) Jarboe, of Bloomington, his daughter, Ann Jarboe, of Lewisville, Texas; two grandchildren, Sophie Jarboe and Samuel Jarboe; two sisters, Kris (Rod) Green, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Carole June Cullen, of Crossville, Tennessee; two brothers, Jack Jarboe, of Crossville, Tennessee and Edward Jarboe, of Lebanon, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marilyn Armstrong of Ft. Wayne.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens with military rites. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
