Mack served a short time with the Greensboro Police Department in North Carolina and with the Fauquier County Sheriff's Department. He finished his law enforcement career with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 2013. Stories of solving cases with colleagues who became lifelong friends have been shared with many of you over the years.
Mack was very active and enjoyed the outdoors, especially bicycling and fishing. He spent his indoor time volunteering at the animal shelter every week. He loved sharing his love of and compassion for animals with others.
