John Gerald Kiely of Fox Point, WI, passed peacefully into eternal life on July 4, 2022 at age 91. He was a former resident of Milwaukee, Hartford, and Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin, and Graniteville, South Carolina.
John was the devoted husband of the late Lucretia "Lu" Kiely (nee Brzeskiewicz) for 64 years. Loving father of Martin Kiely (Debra Dear), Barbara Kiely Miller (Michael Miller), Paula Kiely (James Plate) and Kathleen (Thomas) Bohlman. Adoring and proud grandfather of Marilyn and Maxwell Kiely, Katelyn (John) Gesell, and Brittany Bohlman. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. John was preceded in death by his wife Lucretia, his father James (Marion) Kiely, and his mother Magnhild Kiely.
John was born and raised in Milwaukee, where he married and raised four children with Lucretia. Before marrying, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was an avid lifelong reader. He worked for the Wisconsin Gas Company for 33 years before retiring. After retirement, John worked part-time for a men's clothing store in Brookfield. John loved dogs, including a Great Dane, a Golden Retriever and a Chow Chow. He loved being active outdoors?fishing, playing golf, and sailing. When he wasn't outside, he loved following the Green Bay Packers and other local sports teams. In his later years, Lucretia taught John how to garden, and he took daily pleasure in working in their South Carolina yard.
The funeral service will be held at Feerick Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 13, at 6:00 pm, with Rev. Thomas Griffey officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm prior to the service.
