On Saturday, April 10th, 2021, John J. Garies passed away at 91. He was born on October 25th, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri where he lived until he retired. He was an electrician by trade and a member of the IBEW. He was an army veteran of the Korean conflict. He retired in 1994 and moved to Palm Harbor, Florida. He was a devout Catholic and a Hospice volunteer. He never met a stranger as everyone was his friend. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness and gentlemanly ways. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Mary Margaret "Margie" Garies, his sister, Mary Garies, his brother, William Garies and his sister, Jo Ann Huesgen. He is survived by his 4 children, Tina Garies, Donna Wood, Amy Schuler and Johnnie Garies. He had 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
