On Tuesday May 10, 2022, John Gamble, loving husband and father of six children, passed away peacefully at the age of 91, in his home surrounded by his loving family. John was born on February 26,1931 in Snohomish to Harold 'Pete' and Helen Gamble. He was the eldest of six siblings George, Maxine Gagnet, Marcia Raymond, Frances & Eric. John grew up in Snohomish where he attended school graduating from Snohomish H.S. John met his only love Jennie Josephine 'Jody' Lyon and they were married October 17, 1952 in Snohomish and began their family which grew to include Annett Gamble-Olson, (Donald Olson), Don (Lisa Burnett), Julie Martin (Chris), Kathleen (Doyle Pearson), Gale Beerbroer (Steven) & Jeanie Allgier (Cory). Their family eventually settled in Lake Stevens. John's grandfather was one of the early founders of Snohomish Iron Works, John followed in his grandfathers' & fathers' footsteps where he eventually partnered with brother Eric in running the business. When Eric moved on, he and Jody ran the iron works together, providing a livelihood for many relatives over the years. Upon retirement his son Don took over the business until it was sold in 2016 and it is still thriving today as Gagnon Welding under the new owners. In the 60's John was the crew chief of a modified hard top race car he and his two brothers in law, Joe Lyon and Chet Nelson built and raced at the dirt track Sky Valley Raceway for many years of fun in car 54! Later John served as president of the Snohomish Valley Muzzleloaders club where he and Jody participated in many rendezvous reenactments with their 24 foot teepee, he was a highly skilled craftsman of hand made items including baskets, rawhide items, authentic leather clothing, hand forged tools and woodcraft. He enjoyed fixing things and making them better at work and at home. John loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, & trapping, skinning and tanning hides of beaver and other small animals as well as gathering natural materials for his basketry. John was devoted to Jody and his children and felt much joy when surrounded by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was liked and admired by all who knew him and will be missed. John was preceded in death by his parents, siblings George, Frances, Eric and daughter Kathleen. Johns final resting place is in the Gamble family plot, GAR Cemetery, Snohomish Wa. Memorial services will be held on Saturday July 2, 2022 at Forrest Park Floral Hall 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd. Everett, WA from 3:00-6:00PM
