John Albea Gaither, 82, of Mocksville, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020.
Mr.Gaither was born August 23, 1937 in Davie County, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by Parents John Pinkney Gaither and Grace Albea Gaither. He was also preceded in death by his infant brother, Paul E. Gaither; sisters Shirley G. Smith; Colonel Beavey L. Gaither; and brother Deputy Wayne H. Gaither.
John proudly served in the United States Army. He had a 42 year career in textile manufacturing and during that time he had ownership of Gaither Manufacturing, Inc. in Pinetops, North Carolina. He was also a devoted member to the New Union United Methodist Church of Mocksville, North Carolina. He also was a member of the Masonic Memorial Lodge #473 of Lexington, North Carolina, The Scottish Rite of Greensboro, North Carolina and Jaffa Shrine in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. A private graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
Survivors include spouse, Wanda Hudson Gaither; son, John Alvis Gaither.
