John James Foskitt, 70, of Weeki Wachee, FL, passed away on July 27, 2021 after ongoing health issues. John was born October 27, 1950 in Stoneham, MA. He grew up in Chester, NH, the eldest of six sons to Leonard Allen and Elizabeth (Fraser) Foskitt.
He graduated from Pinkerton Academy and spent the majority of his life employed as a machinist for Robbins (Fisher) Auto Parts in Manchester, NH where he continued his love for building and repairing car engines. Prior, he worked for the Town of Auburn, NH road agent team where he helped build, repair, and maintain Town roads.
John married his high school sweetheart Patricia in 1973. After a brief residence in Miami Beach, FL they settled in Auburn, NH where they raised two sons. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, travelling, and being with his family. After retiring and building a new home in Florida, he travelled frequently with his wife and family around the world. His favorite and most frequented destination was Ireland, which inspired his deep and long Irish American heritage.
He is predeceased by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia (Filteau) Foskitt, sons Jeremy Foskitt and Justin Foskitt, brothers Alan, Paul, Peter, Philip, and Steven Foskitt of NH, and loving and caring relatives, friends, co-workers, and numerous others.
A celebration of life will be held at The Shaskeen Pub, 909 Elm Street, in Manchester, NH on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of the Nature Coast, Brooksville, FL.
