John Dorein Eagan, 89, of Caldwell, Idaho peacefully passed away at home with daughters Errin and Shannon by his side on April 27, 2021. John battled Dementia for several years. During his stages of Dementia and leading into Alzheimer's he stayed physically strong and always remembered his dear wife Sharon, to whom he adored and was married almost 50 years. John was born in Gideon, Missouri to Oliver Wilton Eagan and Wanda Vernice York. John attended grade school in Doniphan and Campbell, Missouri, middle school in Brogan, Oregon and graduated high school in Vale, Oregon. John was a United States Veteran. He served in the United States Air force as well as the Korean War as a lead jet mechanic. He was honorably discharged after four years (1951-1954) as an Airman First Class. John graduated from the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. In his later years he attended Boise State University and received his Culinary Arts Degree. Another of the many accomplishments of John's life was being a Golden Glove welterweight champion boxer. His boxing career started in high school and carried through the Air Force and ended after graduating from the College of Idaho. His love of boxing carried throughout his life. John married Sharon (Kelly) Eagan and together they had two daughters, Errin and Shannon; he also had three stepchildren from Sharon's previous marriage, Bryan, TJ, and Shawn. Together John and Sharon successfully bought and ran many local businesses (John's Sporting Goods Store, The Keg n' Kettle, The Corral Lounge, Clip & Sip Barber Shop, NU2U Auto Sales, The Budget Motel, etc.) along with other Idaho properties. John was a very humble, generous, and fun-loving person. He would give the shirt off his back or last dollar to anyone in need. He loved his family, cooking, working with his hands, and socializing with friends. John is preceded in death by both of his parents, brothers James and Charlie, nephew Chuck, and wife Sharon. John is survived by his daughter Errin Brown and grandson Austin, daughter Shannon Eagan, son TJ Agenbroad, and daughter Shawn Agenbroad. John is also survived by his brothers Don and Bill, sister Carol and many loving family members. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life for John & Sharon Eagan will be held at the Elks Lodge located at 1015 N Kimball Ave., Caldwell, Idaho on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
