John O. Dyer

John O. Dyer of Loganville, GA passed away on 02-05-2025 after a well fought battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Norma Jean Dyer, sons Richard E Dyer of Gastonia, NC, H. Keith Dyer of Rock Hill, SC and John E Dyer of Charlotte, NC. as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Dyer and his family were former residents of Tega Cay, SC. Mr. Dyer was a member of the first elected City Council and was often referred to as the "Father of Tega Cay" based on the work he did "fronting" the group which obtained the city charter in 1983. He also served on the Tega Cay Home Owners Board and was active in the little league program as a coach and umpire. Mr. Dyer spent 10 years working in Quality Control as an Analyst, Engineer and Manager including Precision Seal of Gastonia, NC before embarking on a 30+ year career in Sales and Marketing for several automotive and aerospace suppliers, retiring in 2002. An avid flyer and restorer, Mr. Dyer owned, restored and flew several planes & restored many cars during his life.
