John William Downing Sr. ("Buster", also known as "Pop"), 90. Passed away on Monday on November 4th, 2024. He was born in Washington DC on September 15th, 1934 to George and Edna (Baxter) Downing, and grew up in the Anacostia area of DC.
Along with his parents he is predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years Linda, his son James, and daughter Brenda. He has resided in Welcome MD, for 19 years with his great grandson Jacob Norwood.
Buster is survived by his oldest son; John Jr. (Cathy) and youngest daughter, Donna, 10 grandchildren, and numerous great and great- great grandchildren.
He was an automobile glass technician for his entire career; the last 30 years spent at D & S Glass, the family business. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid car enthusiast. He loved spending time on the water in fast boats and water sports.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Children's Cancer Society in Busters name.
