John Harold Dean, 92, of Homosassa, FL and formerly of Homes, NY died on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at his home. Mr. Dean was born on October 18, 1927 in Camden, NY and was the son of the late Harold and Mary (Allman) Dean. He served in the armed forces in the 1940's. When he moved to Homer, he worked at Brockway's and, went on to own and operate Dean's Transmission in Cortland, NY for many years. He retired as an automobile mechanic in 1993. He was a member of the Moose lodge and a lifetime member of The Elk's Lodge. John and his wife of 62 years, Myrl Dean, moved to Homosassa over 20 years ago. His brother's Fredrick Dean, Douglas Dean Sr., Clifford Palmer, and his wife Myrl preceded him in death. Surviving him is his daughter Carol Lane of Homer; grandchildren, Brian Lane, Dr. Cheryl (TJ) Boice, great grandchild, Nathan Boice of Florida; his sister Joan Palmer, brother Richard (Sheila) Dean, and many nieces and nephews. John will be lovingly missed and remembered by family and friends.
