John Dan White, age 71, died on January 6, 2021, after a brief illness. He was born on August 9, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating from St. Martin's Episcopal School in Metairie, Dan received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a Life Member of the University of Mississippi Alumni Association and a member of the UMAA Foundation. Dan settled in Jackson, Mississippi, where he worked in insurance and finance.
Surviving Dan are his son, Dan McKinnon White II of Idyllwild, California; daughter, Amanda White Walker (John), and granddaughter, Sophie Grace White, of Brandon; Rosemary Caldwell White of Jackson; sister, Susan White Allenburger (Alex) of Jackson; nieces Catherine Allenburger Ashy (Brett) and Emily Allenburger Gordon, both of Jackson; and many cousins, great nephews and nieces. Dan is preceded in death by his father and mother, Dan McKinnon White and Frances Graves White, sister Ann White Spencer, and nephew Christian Alexander Allenburger IV.
A memorial service will be held in the future. If you wish to memorialize Dan, you may make a donation in his memory to Canopy Children's Solutions, formerly Mississippi Children's Home Society.
