John C. Casto, 64, passed away January 27, after a hard fought, 10 year battle with Leukemia.
John was born in Akron on November 8, 1957 to the late Charles & Virginia Casto. He was a 1976 graduate of Stow High School. He completed degrees at both Kent State and the University of Akron. John worked for First Energy for nearly 33 years, retiring in 2014, and continuing his career with Roto Polymers America. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. John was a youth sports coach and an avid fisherman. Most of all, John adored his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed taking them to Crystal Lake.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Rafe Caprez. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years Monica (Caprez); his children Mary (John) Dapp, John (Brittany) Casto & Nick (Megan) Casto; grandchildren Natalie, William, Jacob, Lucy, Johnny, Anna, Sophia, Vinny, Tommy, Leah, Eva, & Charlotte, 7 siblings & numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 1, at 11:00 am by Fr. David McCarthy at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Second St. in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Randolph.
