John L. Bittner, Jr., 54 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Born February 25, 1968 to the late Mildred and John "Jack" L. Bittner, Sr. Known to many as "Buffy," "The Buff Man," and his personal favorite, "Uncle Buffy."
Uncle Buffy was a member of the Water Witch Fire Company and St. Teresa's Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman, loved watching Larry the Cable Guy, watching the Ravens, camping trips, bike rides, walking around town, listening to classic rock, playing games with family, and everyone's favorite, telling his famous jokes.
He is survived by his aunt and uncle, Amy and Mike Lipka; aunts, Shirley Harry and Nancy Dize; nieces, Madison Onifer and Jocelynne Bittner; great-nephew, Thomas Riccio (TomTom); great-niece, Sophia Goad; cousins, Michael Lipka, Jr. (Jean), Austin Lipka (Amanda), Morgan Lipka (Dillion), and London Purfield; along with many other extended cousins and friends.
Uncle Buffy was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mildred Bittner; sister, Michelle Bittner-Onifer; and brother, Richard Bittner.
Uncle Buffy was the true definition of a fighter. His memory, strength and determination will live on throughout his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jerry Skrivanek V.F.W. Post No. 8185 in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022, 11 AM until 3 PM, at the Jerry Skrivanek V.F.W. Post No. 8185 of Port Deposit, MD.
