John passed away peacefully in Royal Oak, Michigan, on November 5th, 2022 at the age of 73, preceded in death by his parents John and Hilma Bianchette. He is survived by his children Rochelle Spindler (Marc), Giovanni (Ashley), Tom (Erin) and Emily. John was the proud grandfather to Gabriella, Dominique, Isabella, Rocco, Gus, Ruby, and Giovanni. John was also a loving brother to Jim (JoAnn) and Jayne Hoski (Greg) and was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Bianchette and William Gutterman.
John was a devoted father who would do anything for his family, sacrificing whatever he could to make sure everyone was well-cared for and secure. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their football games, t-ball games, and ice skating practices. He had a tremendous work ethic which led to two successful businesses, John's Party Store in Troy and Carry's Delights in Holly, and was beloved by his many loyal customers who frequented those establishments over the years. John was often told by customers that he made the best pizza and cannolis that they have ever eaten.
John had a fondness for his "treasures" and would be frequently seen visiting antique stores in Williamston and Bay City. Over the years he restored many things including cars, phone booths, parking meters, fire alarm boxes, picture frames, and church pews, while also collecting safes, beer mirrors, coffins, photos of the deceased, and funeral home memorabilia. However, perhaps his most valued possession was his 1996 Lincoln Superior hearse, in which he could often be seen driving to a local car show or the nearest Taco Bell drive thru. John was an amazing "tinkerer" and could fix pretty much anything in a house or on a car. He spent countless hours working outdoors and always had the best yard in the neighborhood.
John loved Loui's Pizza In Hazel Park and Trini and Carmen's in Waterford, and was preceded in death by many of his other restaurant favorites like Wing On in Troy and Bill's Donuts in Highland Park.
John's family will receive friends at his Memorial Service on Friday, November 18th from 10am-12pm at the AJ Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy with a prayer service to follow.
