John Edward Bartos, age 85, passed away on February 1, 2022. John is survived by his beloved wife, Karen (Ausbrook) Bartos, daughter Julie Bartos, sister Elsie (Bartos) Ruzek and granddaughters Katja and JuJu Behrens. Born 12 August 1936 in Blue Island, he served the United States Air Force for 24 years as a navigator and computer technology officer. A funeral service at Faith Lutheran Church in Golden and burial, with Military Honors, the El Jebel Pipes & Drums and Masonic Committal Services at the Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, were held on February 7th. The family wishes to acknowledge the kind support of friends in Colorado Springs, Golden and beyond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foothills Animal Shelter (https://foothillsanimalshelter.org/tribute-and-memorial-giving/) or the Golden Civic Foundation (https://www.goldencivicfoundation.org/give/) - both important organizations to the family.
