JOHN MICHAEL BARTOS passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at his residence.
Born May 29, 1933 in Phillipsburg, NJ. Parents were John C. Bartos, Jr. and Veronica Sikora Bartos. John was a 1950 graduate of Phillipsburg High School.
He worked as a draftsman of Ingersoll until he enlisted in the Army. He served in Alaska in ASA until 1956. Upon being discharged he began his four years of college at Drexel University in PA, where he was a Delta Sigma Phi and graduated as a mechanical engineer. He worked for Ingersoll Rand and was a manager of Marine and Navy Engineering.
John met his wife Janet while attending Drexel and they married and moved to his hometown where he continued working for Ingersoll. He retired in 1988 and they moved to Hilton Head Island. After eight years they moved to Aiken, SC.
John was proceeded in death by both parents and a brother, Charles Bartos.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Janet; nephew, John C. Bartos (Marcia); niece, Toni (Ross) Shramko and sister-in-law, Marge Bartos.
