Joel Shawn Hurley age 47 of San Antonio met his Maker, Jesus Christ Tuesday, June 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Clarence and Mildred Hurley and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Lydia Grant. Joel is survived by his children, Liam Hurley and Isla Hurley; his parents, Joe and Clara Hurley; his sister, Angie Torres (Ramon); niece, Megan Torres; nephew, RJ Torres; uncles and aunts, Jackie and Marcie Grant, Marguerite Hurley, Beverly Hurley and Rev. Billy and Sue Burr; and numerous cousins.
He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio. He was awarded a BBA and an MBA both from Baylor University.
He first was employed as a Business Consultant with Anderson World, then Anderson Consulting. He was also employed with Ernst & Young; then later as Senior Vice President of Hitachi Corporation and the Redaptive Corporation.
SERVICES
A Celebration of Joel's Life will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Westover Hills Church, 9340Westover Hills Boulevard, San Antonio, Texas 78251 ~ please use the west or south entrances. In lieu of flowers, his family requests contributions in his memory be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, 1001 East 101st Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64131 ~ www.pkdcure.org.
