Joel Chris Chambliss

Joel Chris Chambliss, 61, of Abilene, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Bob Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Chris was born May 2, 1961 in Denver City, Texas to J.C. and Neda (Anderson) Chambliss. He grew up in Plains, Texas and graduated from Plains High School. He was a Cotton Ginner and had been the Yoakum County Co-op Gin Manager many years. Chris is survived by his wife; Melissa Rannefeld of Abilene, Texas, his mother and step-father; Neda Faris and Leon of Lubbock, sons; Justin Chambliss and Carrie of Richardson, Texas, Jordan Chambliss and Lehi of Boise, Idaho, Jaydon Chambliss of Lubbock and Michael Therwanger and Halie of Seminole, Texas, his brother; Scott Chambliss of Rivera, Texas, grandchildren; Adalay Chambliss, Macie and Kelbie Therwanger, father and mother-in-law; Donnie and Nita Rannefeld of Abilene, and step-sons; Zachary Wood and Chase Powell of Abilene.
