Joe Price Rose, age 74, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. Joe was born and raised in Yukon, Oklahoma and graduated from Yukon High School in 1965. He attended Eastern A&M where he played football and was a proud Vietnam veteran serving in the United Sates Navy. Always a hard worker, Joe retired after more than 25 years with Bridgestone/Firestone and went on to also retire from the City of Yukon. He spent his later years working and doing what he loved, running his lawn care business. Joe loved spending time with his family, watching football (Go Pokes!) and baseball, golfing, and especially his annual “fishing” trip with his lifelong best friends. He was a great storyteller; his humor was witty, filled with sarcasm and “Joe-isms”.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Loree Rose, and John Pershing Rose and survived by his wife, Christy D’Ann Rose; his daughter, Kimberly Ann Collins and her husband Michael of McKinney, TX; his sons, Dr. Jody Gene Rose and his wife Mindy of Yukon, OK., and Ryan Keith Anthony and his wife Alexandra of Tulsa, OK; his brothers, John Pershing Rose and his wife Brenda and Danny Gene Rose and his wife Joy; his grandchildren, John Carson Collins, Rylie Marie Grant, Marlie Campbell Rose and Emmett Alexander Anthony along with many nieces and nephews who he loved like his own.
Visitation will be held at Yanda & Son Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6pm-8pm.
His life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the First Christian Church, 601 Maple, Yukon, OK. In honor of Joe, the family has asked that everyone attending wear OSU attire.
