Joe Edward Rodgers, formerly of Gorman, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021. Services for Joe will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel, 219 W. Roberts St., Gorman, TX. Family and friends will gather from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Joe was born, July 26, 1971 in Gorman, TX to Jim and Donnie Chambers Rodgers and grew up in Gorman, attending and graduating from Gorman High School. During High School he was a very good athlete, and was active in all sports Gorman had to offer. Later he attended TSTC and became a Wind Turbine Technical working for Invenergy. On August 29, 1992 he married Kayla Cupit at Lake Leon and together they raised two children.
Joe loved to travel, especially to Mexico and Alaska and Joe never met a stranger, he loved talking and visiting with anyone who'd take a minute and visit back. He had a huge heart. He loved watching and playing sports but Joe's greatest love was for his family; his wife, kids and one precious granddaughter. He was her "Grumpy" and the light of his life.
Joe is survived by his wife Kayla, daughter; Kassidy Webre and husband Keith of West, son; Keaton Rogers, also of West and his granddaughter Kamdyn Jo Webre. He is also survived by his father Jim Rodgers of Gorman, sisters; Donna Beth Farris and husband Howard and Dee Dee Rodgers and brother; Don Rodgers and wife Marty. Joe was also survived by mother-in-law; Sandy Terrell, father-in- law; Robert Cupit and wife Lynn, father-in law; Bob Golson and wife Linda, brothers-in-law; Scott Cupit, Glenn Golson and wife Carolyn and Billy Golson and wife Kathy and numerous nieces and nephews and his brother, from another mother, Greg Warren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Donnie and grandparents.
