Joe R. Ratliff (Joey, Joe Bob), age 67 passed away on April 5, 2022, in Dallas, TX. He was born on January 4, 1955, in Dallas, TX to Robert H. Ratliff and Naomi Ratliff. He was raised in Dallas and graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1973. He began working shortly after High School at Western Electric then later he began his career at the Post Office where he worked for over 30 years then retired in 2018. He then worked part time as a Marshall at the Mesquite Golf course. Joe was an avid sports fan. In his spare time he enjoyed playing and watching golf. The Masters was his favorite golf event. He enjoyed socializing with his friends at Bubba's while watching the Cowboys, Stars, and the Mavs. He would attend several Dallas Mavericks games each season. Joe enjoyed music of all kinds as well as smoking a good cigar. He will always be remembered by his loved ones as a kind, loyal, and giving person. The most amazing friend that anyone could hope to have.
He is Preceded in death by his parents Robert (2007) and Naomi (1998). He is survived by his cousins Gerald Horne and Debbie Wright, his special friend Latosha Palmer, lifelong friend Dennis Marshall, longtime friend Bill Burford, and many other longtime friends, associates, and co-workers. Lastly, he is survived by his best friend Tink who was his miniature Dachshund that he loved dearly. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dallas SPCA. A small service for Joe is being planned for May 2, 2022 at 3:30 pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home.
