Joe E. Polk, Beloved father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather has passed on to join his soulmate Carol Piland Polk. His love of the outdoors and appreciation of nature was gifted to his family through many bird hunts and fishing trips at Labelle Ranch, much beach time on Bolivar Peninsula and some amazing offshore fishing trips where he shared his vast knowledge of the local waters.
His wit and joie de vivre will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He leaves his family with many beautiful memories of annual trips to gorgeous and diverse destinations.
He was a loving and generous soul. Benefactor to many causes including Lamar University and his alumni Notre Dame. His successful business career spanned decades as a car dealer from Beaumont Motor Co to Buddy Chevrolet.
He is survived by his children Rita Polk Wilcox, Drew Polk, Paige Polk Mayeux, Ruth Polk Dodson, Lyn Piland Kennett and preceded in death by his first wife Eleanor Polk, Joe Polk Jr. and Tommy Piland. Grandchildren of this extended family include Joey Polk, Kimberly Polk, Tres Wilcox, Matt Wilcox, Katie Mayeux, Amanda Hall, Carly Galmor, Sara Kaiser, and David Piland. Great grandchildren include Kellan and Grayson Hall, Tobyn and Paisley Polk, Bo and Hanna Wilcox, Ivy and Hazel Wilcox, Lily and Daisy Galmor, Layke and Maycee Flowers, Tex and Sunny Kaiser, and Olivia Piland.
His memory will live on in all of us. A private ceremony will be held by his immediate family. If you wish to honor his memory please donate to a charity of your choice.
His cremation arrangements will be handled by Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
