Joe (JD) Kellams passed peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2020.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, two sons, Shane (Mary, "meanest daughter-in-law I've got") and Aaron, grandchildren and great grandchildren and his many friends (he wouldn't want them left out).
JD was born Dec. 12, 1944 in Sullivan, Indiana to Rosalie and "Tubby" Kellams. He served this country on submarines USS Threadfin and USS George C. Marshall in the United States Navy. Employment was with many power stations and later as a nuclear consultant (including at ESCOM in Johannesburg, South Africa).
Debbie and JD retired to The Villages, Fl. in 2015 where, in spite of his many illnesses, he lived life as everyone should, full of humor and compassion. A friend nicknamed him Superman, a name that surely fit.
The American Legion Post 347 will host a life celebration on
September 5 from 1-2 PM at Eisenhower Regional Recreation Center.
