Joanne Mildred (Gilbert) Tralmer, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 81, on Friday, December 11, 2020.
Joanne was born on June 30, 1939 in Fort Atkinson, WI to Ernest and Clara (Lightfield) Gilbert. She grew up in Rockford, IL attending Rockford Harlem High School and graduating from Rockford College with a degree in Chemistry. She worked at Dow Chemical Co. in Midland, MI before marrying John Phillip Tralmer on October 3, 1964 in Loves Park, IL. She also worked for Argonne National Labs in Lamont, IL, and The Enzyme Institute at the University of Wisconsin before becoming a full-time homemaker. John and Joanne raised two sons, Robert and Daniel.
John and Joanne lived in Houston, TX from 1972 until 2008 when they moved to Conroe. She had many friends at Windwood Presbyterian Church in Houston, and First Presbyterian Church of Conroe where she was an Elder, taught Sunday School, helped at Mother's Day Out, and led Ruth Circle Bible Study. She was awarded an Honorary Life Membership by the Presbyterian Women at First Presbyterian Church for her continued dedication. Joanne loved attending sports games and recitals of her kids and grandkids, enjoyed square dancing with all her friends at Bluebonnet Squares, and time spent on the boat at Lake Conroe.
Joanne was preceded in death by her father Ernest, her mother Clara, and her sister Rita Frank. She is survived by her husband of 56 years John, son Robert and daughter-in-law Esther Tralmer, son Daniel and daughter-in-law Cathy Tralmer and five grandchildren: Cynthia Tralmer, Brooke (Tralmer) Ramos, Jessica Tralmer, Christopher Tralmer, and Macy Tralmer.
Due to COVID-19, funeral services will be held privately for family.
