FROST, Joanne (Howe) On Sunday, July 17th, we said goodbye to the most wonderful wife, mother and friend. She was 82. Joanne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Chester "Chet" Frost; her two loving daughters, Jill Frost and Paige (Frost) De Leo. She was the proud grandmother of Davis Cook, Chloe De Leo, Sophie De Leo and Celia Cook; and sister of Marilyn (Howe) Stewart, Carol (Howe) Harding and Deborah (Howe) Bowman. She was predeceased by her brother Ralph Howe, Jr. and her parents, Ralph and Thelma Howe. Joanne was a 1957 graduate of West Bridgewater High School where she was a star athlete and the prom queen. After graduation, Joanne worked in Boston for a number of years before meeting her husband, Chet. As it would turn out, they worked together at Coopers & Lybrand. The two married in 1963. They began their lives together in Marblehead, spent time in Foxboro, raised their girls in Walpole, and then retired to Cape Cod. In addition to raising her two girls, Joanne was an avid golfer and painter. A member of the Foxborough Country Club, she often won the area tournaments and some said she had a straighter tee shot than Chet! In retirement, Joanne was happiest spending time with her grandchildren and doting on her bonus grandchildren in the Torrey Beach Community. She had such a big heart that there was truly room for all. Joanne was active in her church, volunteering in the soup kitchen, and spearheading the cookie drive for the annual fair. (How we all loved her double ginger snap cookies.) She enjoyed her neighborhood book club and had mad Sudoku skills. She also took great joy working in her garden. Joanne's garden bloomed all season and was so colorful. To honor Joanne and her love of her garden, we request that the guests of her memorial service dress colorfully. A service celebrating Joanne's life will be held at First Church Sandwich, United Church of Christ, 136 Main Street, Sandwich, MA on Thursday, July 21st at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the Daniel Webster Inn.
