Joanne Briggs Clark, 78, of Rougemont NC, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Howell Briggs and Isabel Ford Briggs.
She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Easter Star.
A funeral service will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Conducted by the Rev. Tim Atkinson and Rev. William Wheeler Jr. A private burial will take place in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Thomas Boyd Clark; two daughters, Susan Clark Langdon (Charles) and Mary Jo Clark; one grandson, Thomas Brent Evans; two grand puppies, Sadie Mae Langdon and Dutchess Mae Clark; and many nieces, nephews and extended loved ones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Briggs Cox; one brother, Howell Thomas Briggs; father in-law, Walter Boyd Clark; mother in-law, Mary Fannie Clark; and her step mother in-law, Marie Adcock Clark.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford. At other times they will be at the home of Charles and Susan Clark Langdon.
Arrangements are by Eakes Funeral Home of Oxford.
