Joanne M. (Farr) (Chrzan) Pelton, 66, of Floyd, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Rome Memorial Hospital with her loving sons by her side.
She was born on January 31, 1954 in Utica, the daughter of Joseph and Janet (Edwards) Farr. Joanne was a 1972 graduate of Holland Patent Central School and then earned her nursing degree in 1975 from Marcy School of Nursing. In 1976, she was united in marriage to Joseph Chrzan at St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford. Joanne was employed as a nurse with Faxton Hospital, Visiting Nurses and ultimately retired from Rome Memorial Hospital. Following retirement, she continued to practice nursing, caring for family and friends. She was a communicant of Stittville United Methodist Church, a member of the New York Mills Ladies Axillary and a member of many local Senior Citizens Groups.
Joanne was a loving mother, grandmother and a special friend to anyone she meet. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially knitting and crocheting. Joanne also cherished spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Surviving are her mother, Janet, Stittville; sons, Dean (Jackie Andrews) Chrzan, Stittville and David (Tanya) Chrzan, Lee; grandchildren, Alexander, Logan and Devin; sister, Jill (Peter) Fenton, Floyd; sisters-in-law, Mary Rogowski and Sharon (Tom) Guca and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph.
Joanne's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Rome Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday from 3-6 pm from Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Funeral services will be private for the family. Masks must be worn and social distancing observed. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery.
Remembrances in Joanne's name may be made to the Boonville Youth Bowling League. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
