Joann Theis, 92 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Patrick Hoeft officiating. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. A visitation will take place from 9:30-11:30 A.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Caring for Joann and her family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN.
Joann was born and raised in Little Falls, MN to the late Paul and Victoria (Kanieski) Stanek. She graduated with the Class of 1951 from St. Francis Catholic High School. On July 12, 1958, she married the love of her life, Louis Theis, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, and together they built a life centered around family and faith. A woman of many interests, Joann found joy in attending the Little Falls Arts and Crafts Fair, searching for treasures at garage sales, and collecting unique and random items. She was an avid bowler, enjoying time spent with friends in her bowling league. Joann also loved to travel, creating lasting memories along the way. Her greatest love, however, was her family. She found immense happiness in spending time with her six children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always offering them her boundless love, patience, and kindness. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, where she was active in the Christian Mothers. Joann had a soft heart for all living things, showing compassion to animals and people alike. Her tender spirit, gentle presence, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family and friends will forever remember the warmth she shared, the joy she found in life's simple pleasures, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met.
Joann is survived by her husband of 66 years, Louie Theis; sons, Mike Theis, Jim Theis and Paul (Alisa) Theis; daughters, Pat Theis, Cathy Theis and Carol (Brad) Wallace; grandchildren, Nicole (Travis) Fuechtmann, Ryan Plante, Michael (Kellie) Ashby, Misty (Tom) Tillges, Brittney Theis, Rachel (Calvin) Wallace, Nathan (Taylor) Theis, Ashley (Bradley) Posterick, Kristy (Nolan) Ewing, Brennan Theis; great-grandchildren, Bear, Laikyn, Luca, Lemmie, Kade, Bryn, Vivian, Sawyer, Dawson, Wylder, Hazel, Axel, Remington, Myla, Cecelia, Beckham.
She was preceded in death by parents, Paul and Victoria (Kanieski) Stanek; 9 sisters and 2 brothers.
