Joann Maust
Help us celebrate Joann! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Joann.
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh,
To love, to work or play.
Tasks undone must stay that way
I've found that peace at the close of the day.
If parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savoured much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now, He set me free.
Joann Maust, 77, was called home by our Lord, Thursday, February 18, 2021.
Born January 23, 1944, in Grantsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late George "Dutch" Fazenbaker and Marie (Wilt) Fazenbaker.
Joann is survived by daughters, DJ Rosales of Sykesville, MD and Teddi O'Connell (husband Dan, son Sean) of Frederick, MD; and siblings, Betty Beitzel (Gary), Dale Fazenbaker (Patty) and Larry Fazenbaker (Geri); many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Joann was a beautician for several decades, operating a beauty salon in Salisbury for over forty years. She greatly enjoyed the social aspect of her career, and would often have several clients drinking coffee or sipping wine while engaging in hours of of meaningful conversation in her shop. It was rare to find Joann sitting idle, as she enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, reading, socializing and most importantly, spending time with family and loved ones.
Joann had a fierce love for her daughters, DJ and Teddi, and spent her final years with them making beautiful memories. This included the special bond she shared with son-in-law, Dan and grandson, Sean. Additionally, Joann loved spending time with her siblings, as they had a tight bond that lasted throughout their lifetime.
