JoAnn M. Larson, 87, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2020 at Avow Hospice of Naples. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abner and Esther Hammerberg as well as her beloved husband of fifty-nine years, Lloyd G. Larson. JoAnn was a longtime resident of Naples, FL, having moved from Minnesota with her husband, Lloyd, in the 1980s. They enjoyed spending the winter months in the "City of White Sand" and their summer months at their lake home in Glenwood, Minnesota. She loved sun-bathing down the block from their Naples home, strolling the white sandy shores, hunting for the prettiest seashells, and bicycling along Gulfshore Boulevard. She was anavid reader, preferring to read for hours under the hot Florida sun. Her passions included crossword puzzles of varying difficulty, searching for the best books that the downtown Naples library had to offer, and playing competitive games of cards or mexican train with her family. She was a longtime member of the Unity Church of Naples and Bonita Springs. Every Sunday, she could be found sitting next to her family during services. In her later years, JoAnn resided at Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh. JoAnn enjoyed the holiday parties and her weekly jaunts to the local craft store. She will be missed by her many friends there. In her youth, she loved polka dancing with her beloved Lloyd at the Medina ballroom. She also worked for many years with a local Minnesota construction company prior to her retirement to Naples. Her favorite quote was one that her late husband said every day, "This is the day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it," Psalm 118:24. She was truly a one of a kind woman who loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She is survived by her children Sherri (Richard) Anderson of Champlin, MN, and Cynthia Haaland of Naples, FL; along with grandchildren, Kurt (Shannon) Anderson of Eden Prairie, MN, Derek (Sarah) Anderson of Pequot Lakes, MN, Emily Anderson of Champlin, MN, Brittany Haaland of Fishers, IN, Bryce Haaland of Orlando, FL; and great-grandchildren, Avery and Hadley Antonacchio, Jemma and Dayne Anderson, Sawyer and August Anderson. She is survived by her sister Lois Setterberg of Prescott, AZ. A Memorial Service to honor her life will be announced at a later date.
