Joan Theresa Pouncey Webb, 89, of Memphis passed Monday, November 29, 2021. Joan, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was a fourth generation Memphian whose great grandfather, Philip Randal Athy, served as Chief of Police during one of the Yellow Fever Epidemics. Joan attended Sacred Heart Elementary School. While in high school at St Agnes Academy (Class of 1950), she was a cheerleader for CBC (now CBHS). She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority while at Memphis State. Joan worked for many years with Weight Watchers and Pathmark. Since 1958, Joan was as a daily communicant at St. Louis Catholic Church and served as a eucharistic minister. She was a past president of Madonna Circle and served in numerous support roles for St Louis School, CBHS, and St Peter's Orphanage. Joan loved to paint, play tennis, and participate in her Investment Club.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, son Tommy, and brother, Schuyler. She is survived by her children, Missy George (David), Roy Webb (Boo), and grandchildren, Wes, Philip, Thomas, Joe George and Betsy, Erin, Sarah Webb, and Trey and Evan Webb, and one great granddaughter, Cayleigh Nicole Webb.
The Family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to St Louis Catholic Church (memo) Ministry to the Sick. Services will be held for immediate family members. Masses for the Repose of the Soul of Joan Theresa Webb will be posted in the church bulletin.
