Joan (Giroux) Litteral, 71, of Plainville, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Friday, November 19, 2021.
Born in New Britain on October 26, 1950, she was one of two children to the late Armand and Elizabeth (Deminski) Giroux. A loving and devoted mother, she raised her two daughters in Plainville. Joanie was the office manager at New Britain Heat Treating for 30+ years where her co-workers also considered her "Mom". An avid traveler, she enjoyed cruises and annual trips to Maine. Joanie loved theater and was a faithful patron of CT Cabaret for many years. After her retirement, this social butterfly became a friendly and familiar face at the Plainville Senior Center where she made many new friends and enjoyed spending her much deserved free time. Remembered for her bright spirit, infectious laugh and affection for Alan Jackson, she will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.
She leaves her daughters, Stephanie Leifert and her husband, Jeremy of Torrington and Wendi Litteral of New York City, her brother, Dennis Giroux, his wife Mary, their two children and three grandchildren. She also leaves many friends, fellow card players and cribbage partners, all of whom she loved dearly and considered family.
Joanie was generous in her contributions to several non-profit organizations, and may be remembered in lieu of flowers with donations to Plainville Community Food Pantry.
A celebration of Joanie's life will be held on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. Family and friends may gather one hour prior, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
