Joan Carol Bowling, 82, of Faulkner, MD passed away on July 10, 2024, in La Plata, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD on August 12, 1941 to Edward and Clara Leonard.
Joan attended Catonsville Senior High in Catonsville, MD. Joan married the love of her life Charles H. Bowling, Sr. on September 5, 1959. She worked for the Charles County Public Schools as a secretary until she retired, spending many years at General Smallwood Middle School. Joan and her husband were vendors at the La Plata Farmers Market with their family business, C.H. Bowling Produce.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Bowling, Sr. and her parents Edward and Clara Leonard.
Joan is survived by her three children, C. Howard Bowling Jr. (Dawn), Robert L. Bowling, and Charlene J. Bowling. She had one granddaughter, Alexandra Posey (Scott). She was blessed with three great-grandchildren Remington, Parker and Briley Posey.
Joan enjoyed bingo with her daughter and friends and played avidly. She also enjoyed reading books, and baking. Joan baked cookies, breads and was well known for her sourdough bread.
Services will be private.
