Jo Ann Arend

Graveside services for Jo Arend, 90, of Chandler, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Chandler Memorial Cemetery, with Mike Arend officiating.

Mrs. Arend passed away on January 13, 2025, in Tyler.

Jo Ann (Dugas) Arend was born on May 29, 1934, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Louis Joseph Dugas and Eleanor (Granger) Dugas. She graduated from New Iberia High School and worked as a pediatric nurse for four years before becoming a full-time homemaker. Jo volunteered at the New Iberia Community Center and helped on the family dairy farm in her youth. She also volunteered at Lighthouse for the Blind in New Orleans and enjoyed traveling with her friends. Jo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers.

Survivors include her son, Mike Arend and wife Terri of Watauga; her grandchildren, Daniel Arend and wife Tiffany of Lake Worth and Wesley Arend of College Station; and her great-grandson, Calahan Arend of Lake Worth.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
