Mrs. Jo Ann Johnston Jones

Mrs. Jo Ann Johnston Jones, 85, of Albany, died on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Willson Hospice House in Albany.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Jennifer Sherling officiated.

Mrs. Jones was born on July 2, 1938 in Worth County, to the late Joe and Myrtle Tipton Johnston. She had lived in both, Worth and Dougherty County most of her life and was a retired bank officer from Wells Fargo. Mrs. Jones enjoyed gardening, reading and helping anyone she saw in need. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and was a member of Porterfield Methodist Church in Albany for many years.

Survivors include her son, Richard Bruce "Rick" Jones, Jr. of Albany, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bruce Jones, Sr. on October 20, 2010, and by her son, Joe Johnston Jones on January 8, 2006; sisters, Patsy and Alice.
