Jimmy Lee Tucker, 82, of Charlotte, NC passed away on December 11, 2021. Born November 28, 1939, he was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy Tucker. Proceeded in death by his wife, Beth Tarte Tucker, sister, Evelyn Martin and daughter, Donna. He is survived by his children: Rene' Lewis, Coleen Piraino (Michael), Karen Wilt (Paul), Jason Tucker (Jennifer) and Sandra Tucker; his grandchildren: Hannah Schindler (Brian), Trevor, Bronson, Eden Grace and Deacon Wilt, Courtney and Austin Tucker, and many more grandchildren and a great- grandchild Hampton Schindler.
Jimmy,raised in Derita, NC, enlisted in the US Airforce where he served as a B29 crew chief mechanic. He was a world traveled master mechanic and worked 53 years for Holman & Moody, where he met his loving wife of 45 years, Beth. Jimmy was a walking museum. He was the crew chief on the #5 car at the 1965 Le Mans.
Additionally, he worked on King Hussein's, of Jordon, fleet of boats for the US Government. He loved to fish, was a jack of all trades and helped anyone, anytime, do anything. Jimmy and Beth belonged to a van club and motorcycle club where they toured the country with their family and many friends. After retiring, he continued to visit his life long friends at the shop and Little Rock Auto to tell lies to one another.
From his Bud Lights to his flannel and jeans, he will be deeply missed.
The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at McEwen Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Rd. Charlotte, NC 28262.
Graveside services and burial, with military honors are planned for 12:15 PM at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 1504 West Sugar Creek Rd. Charlotte, NC 28262.
